Este libro es el resultado de una investigacin acadmica que se realiz en la Universitat de Barcelona para la obtencin del ttulo de Mster en Experto en espaol lengua extranjera en mbitos profesionales. En este trabajo se discuten la ley 11.161/2005, que establece la obligatoriedad del espaol en las escuelas pblicas y privadas de Brasil; el locus de formacin de profesores de lengua espaola en ese pas, tras la aprobacin de la comentada ley; as como las reacciones y las reflexiones que han resultado de la puesta en marcha de esa ley federal en cuatro estados brasileos: Sao Paulo, Ro de Janeiro, Minas Gerais y Mato Grosso do Sul. Tambin se ha propuesto reunir fuentes de informacin no conocidas de los investigadores no brasileos, a fin de que puedan contrastar el contenido de dichas informaciones con el contenido del discurso que se produce en Espaa, y que desde ese pas se difunde al mundo acerca del proceso de la implementacin de la ley del espaol en Brasil.
