Martn Hurtado considera que la historia cultural (este tipo de investigacin est enmarcada en dicha corriente historiogrfica) es esencial para desmitificar a la historia como asunto de prohombres y grandes hazaas histricas. A final de cuentas, la historia no es asunto de un solo tema; en todo caso, se trata de la forma de vivir del ser humano en el tiempo, y la literatura es una forma espacial de estar en el tiempo.
