La presente investigacin se desarrolla en el Instituto Tecnolgico Superior de Tantoyuca (ITSTA) en el Departamento de Ciencias Bsicas, donde se evalu la motivacin del personal docente perteneciente a este departamento y su desempeo con los alumnos de la carrera de Ingeniera Industrial. Para ello se exponen diferentes teoras motivacionales considerando as, aquellas que representan una explicacin moderna de la motivacin en el personal y a las iniciadas en la dcada de los aos 50s que constituyen la base del estudio de la Motivacin Laboral actual; con la finalidad de identificar los factores que dificultan el logro de las metas tanto de los docentes como de la propia institucin y que afectan a los alumnos y a la productividad de los docentes; en esta investigacin se pretende determinar la relacin que existe entre ambos factores para contribuir al mejoramiento de la motivacin laboral, no slo de los docentes que fueron objeto de ste estudio sino, de todos los docentes que laboran dentro del ITSTA.
