La belleza de este lugar se ve alterada una noche cuando un petrolero zozobra cerca de la costa, se parte en dos, y vierte el crudo en el mar. A la maana siguiente las negras y viscosas olas arrojan a la orilla animales completamente ennegrecidos y los deja en la playa como si fueran montones de desperdicios. A pesar de la gran operacin de limpieza y del paso del tiempo, todava ahora, cuando Pedro acude a la playa a lanzar piedras por encima de las olas, sus manos quedan pegajosas y negras como los recuerdos de aquellos das.
