Las percepciones de los sujetos que conforman la Polica de la Provincia de Buenos Aires acerca del despliegue temporal de sus actividades laborales constituyen el eje del anlisis de este libro donde se propone comprender la estructuracin del trabajo policial en la prctica. En La polica no es una fbrica la autora explora las tensiones surgidas de la disposicin del tiempo en esta actividad laboral, y que revelan las relaciones de poder que surcan este espacio social determinado. Mediante un enfoque etnogrfico se describen prcticas cotidianas de la tarea policial y se exponen insumos fundamentales para abordar las singularidades y/o familiaridades del trabajo policial en dilogo con otras actividades laborales y especialmente la relevancia que cobra la nocin del tiempo en la configuracin profesional de los policas. El resultado es un complejo abordaje emprico que indaga las tensiones analticas que definen lo que este trabajo significa en las representaciones y experiencias de sus protagonistas, los hombres y mujeres que integran la institucin policial ms grande de la Argentina.
