La Rurizacin de la Ciudad est inscrita en la lnea de investigacin de Urbanismo y Medio Ambiente de la Maestra en Planeacin Urbana y Regional de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Aborda la problemtica del crecimiento urbano disperso y tiene como propsito iniciar estudios en el campo del urbanismo orientados a mitigar los impactos negativos que genera el crecimiento de la ciudad en forma catica y expansiva sobre el territorio rural. El aumento de la poblacin en la Sabana de Bogot, la indefinicin de los lmites de la ciudad y el incremento en el ndice de motorizacin son algunas de las causas del problema. Estas determinan un crecimiento disperso y la destruccin del medio natural. Con el objetivo de motivar soluciones al respecto y tener ciudades sostenibles, el trabajo presentado propone las siguientes estrategias: Modificar las prioridades de transporte, articular los sistemas de movilidad con los usos del suelo para controlar el patrn de dispersin y estudiar medidas de diseo para evitar el aumento en el ndice de motorizacin.
