Este escrito pretende ser el comienzo de una reflexin crtica en torno a las principales ideas de la tradicin de pensamiento nacionalpopular argentina. Se trata de una matriz poltica e ideolgica con una larga historia y una profunda vigencia. Dada la gran variedad de sus representantes, este trabajo se limitar a abordar los desarrollos de Arturo Jauretche (uno de sus fundadores) y de algunos pensadores de la Filosofa de la Liberacin, en torno a una serie de conceptos fuertemente vinculados entre s: "Pueblo", "Cultura popular", "Nacin" y "Liberacin". La interpelacin de la que habla el ttulo se llevar a cabo desde la perspectiva descolonial, una reciente opcin epistmicopoltica latinoamericana desarrollada tericamente por la red modernidad/colonialidad/descolonialidad (M/C/D). Las fecundas conceptualizaciones que se han propuesto desde esta perspectiva en los ltimos diez aos, constituyen un punto de partida ineludible a la hora de evaluar la capacidad que poseen las ideas de la tradicin nacionalpopular (acuadas entre los aos 30s y 70s) para dar respuesta a los nuevos movimientos populares de liberacin que se desarrollan actualmente en Latinoamrica.
