This laboratory manual accompanies the ninth edition of Chemistry in Context: Applying Chemistry to Society. This manual provides laboratory experiments that are relevant to science and technology issues, with handson experimentation and data collection. It contains 40 experiments to aid the understanding of the scientific method and the role that science plays in addressing societal issues. Experiments use microscale equipment (wellplates and Beraltype pipets) and common materials. Projecttype and cooperative/collaborative laboratory experiments are included. With the movement towards sustainability and green chemistry, the investigations in this lab were developed to use minimally toxic reagents, and to use them in small quantities, where possible.
