Este trabajo se sita dentro de los estudios de la prctica discursiva de la Lingstica Aplicada y de la Antropologa. Su propsito es analizar la relacin tradica que se establece entre el discurso, la prctica social de la comercializacin y la (re)construccin de la identidad; en un contexto de interculturalidad promovida dentro de un marco del ecoturismo. El estudio se enfoca en la prctica sociodiscursiva de la compraventa de productos o servicios ecotursticos y su vnculo con las identidades actuales de un grupo de lacandones del poblado de Lacanha Chansayab, en Chiapas, Mxico. Ante las actuales condiciones de la vida social, interesa saber lo que pasa con los pueblos indios de Mxico en cuanto a sus prcticas y a sus identidades. Entre las aportaciones ms relevantes de la investigacin se encuentran las relacionadas con la actual prctica discursiva de los lacandones en sus intercambios interculturales en el evento; concluyendo que el uso de varios cdigos lingsticos y simblicos tiene una incidencia en la prctica social ms no es el origen de la multiplicidad de la identidad, la cual comprende esenciales competencias cognitiva, lingstica, pragmtica y simblica.
