The present study mainly deals with the land revenue administration of Cuddapah district. Mure Vijaya Kumar Reddy has made an attempt to analyse the land revenue administration excellently. The book is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter deals with the nature and scope of the work, meaning of Land Revenue, its origin and development.The second chapter makes a study of Geography of Cuddapah district and historical background of Cuddapah district. In the third chapter an attempt has been made to trace the evolution of land revenue and agricultural income tax in India in general and in Cuddapah district in particular. The fourth chapter deals with the land revenue administrative systems i.e.,Village rent system, Ryotwary system, Permanent settlement under the East India Company. The fifth chapter made an attempt to examine the land revenue systems i.e., New settlements and Resettlements under the British Crown. In the sixth chapter an attempt has been made to examine and analyse the administrative machinery and the procedures for the collection of land revenue. The final chapter is the concluding chapter in which the major findings of the study were incorporated.
