Written by a professional writer and researcher, Julie Sedivys Language in Mind, Second Edition, provides an exceptionally accessible introduction to the challenging task of learning psycholinguistic research, theory, and application. Offering a researchbased approachsupported by the new Researchers at Work featurewhich shows the process of conducting an experimentLanguage in Mind emphasizes not just what psycholinguists know, but how theyve come to know it.To deepen students exposure to research and scientific thinking, which is an important skill in followup courses, the text also includes a critical examination of primary literature and the debates in the field (supported by the intext Digging Deeper feature; and online with Web Activities and Language at Large modules). To complete the study of psycholinguistics, the text establishes connections between theory and everyday phenomena (supported by Boxes and Questions to Contemplate features). A robust 4color illustration program distinguishes this book from others, and further explains and illustrates challenging material.

Honestly, this book didn't meet my expectations. I thought it would cover more practical applications, but it delves deep into theory instead. It's well-written, but I was looking for something less academic. Might be good for the right audience.

Great Intro to Psycholinguistics!
I really enjoyed reading this book. It's a perfect introduction to psycholinguistics for anyone curious about how language interacts with the mind. The way the author explains complex concepts in simple terms is really helpful. Totally worth picking up if you're studying linguistics!

Good content but a bit dense
The information in 'Language in Mind' is really fascinating, but I found some sections a little dense to get through. Definitely useful for my psychology class, though! Just be prepared to take your time with it.

Interesting Read, Great for Students
I bought this for my linguistics class, and it's been super helpful. The examples provided are relevant and engaging. Just wish it had more diagrams; sometimes it's hard to visualize the concepts without them!

Well-structured and engaging
I was surprised at how engaging this book was! The author does a fantastic job breaking down the complexities of psycholinguistics. I found myself really absorbed, learning a lot for my thesis research. Highly recommended if you're in this field!
