El marcado crecimiento que han tenido las asociaciones de migrantes mexicanos en los ltimos aos, as como la bsqueda de reconocimiento e integracin con los lugares de origen y destino llamaron mi atencin para abordarlas y tratar de entender estas formas asociativas. En el presente trabajo se analiza el crecimiento de las asociaciones de migrantes hidalguenses,as como el papel que juegan en la formacin de vnculos y mecanismos que generan procesos de cambio en sus comunidades de origen. El aporte de este trabajo se basa en un enfoque terico poco abordado en la migracin: el neocorporativismo y el enfoque de sociedad civil que se complementan con la teora del desarrollo local. Entre los principales hallazgos resalta el liderazgo, los espacios de participacin y la constitucin de actores locales a partir de la interaccin con un gobierno de tipo neocorporativista a travs de un programa social implementado en Mxico denominado 3x1 para Migrantes. Esa interaccin ha resultado positiva, se ha logrado una negociacin de intercambio de bienes y servicios de parte del Estado con las asociaciones y esto ha tenido un impacto directo en la promocin del desarrollo local.
