El presente trabajo, se encuentra inmerso en el marco de la conservacin y corresponde a un estudio histrico arquitectnico sobre la materialidad de las bodegas vitivincolas desde 1850 hasta 1950 en Mendoza, Argentina, con el fin de contribuir con los estudios interdisciplinarios requeridos para determinar el significado cultural que poseen. El significado cultural del patrimonio, es una construccin conceptual compleja que vincula las etapas de la vida histrica de un bien tanto material como inmaterial que permite comprender su sentido o razn de ser en el tiempo, detectar lo que es importante en la vida de los mismos y explicarlo como producto cultural. Si este se pierde o desconoce, contribuye en la desvalorizacin del patrimonio. Es por ello, que la importancia de este trabajo radica en que brinda informacin til como fundamento del valor de las bodegas, como tambin conforman los conceptos solicitados para transmitir en los programas de interpretacin requeridos por turismo cultural. La investigacin fue desarrollada en el marco de la tesis doctoral en arquitectura llevada a cabo en la Facultad de Arquitectura, Urbanismo y Diseo de la Universidad de Mendoza, en 2009.
