Esta investigacin tuvo como objetivo analizar las estrategias y negociaciones que tuvieron que generar siete presidentas municipales pristas en comunidades yucatecas para acceder a las candidaturas por parte de su partido poltico. Me concentr en la dinmica que existe entre la esfera pblica y privada en las vidas de estas mujeres, explorando cmo maniobraron con sus expectativas y ambiciones para lograr introducirse y permanecer como figuras polticas en sus municipios, en tanto satisfacan los roles sociales y culturales que se les imponan por su sexo. Una de las estrategias que utilizaron estas mujeres para poder balancear su rol de gnero con el de ser poltica fue a travs de la lgica de sacrificio. La lgica de sacrificio es la negociacin entre las ambiciones polticas y personales que tienen las mujeres dentro del municipio, y lo que se les demanda de su rol de gnero en tres planos: la familia, el partido poltico y la comunidad. Mientras que en la poltica, a los hombres se les considera y se les permite ser polticamente ambiciosos y que sa debe ser una caracterstica de su gobierno; las mujeres utilizan el discurso del sacrificio.
