Die Leistungen reichen yom W bis in den GW Bereich bei Pulslasern. Die Wirkung auf Gewebe kann in thermische, photochemische und nichtlineare Effekte unterschieden werden. Be sonders ist das Auge gefiihrdet, schon sehr geringe Leistungen kon nen zu Schiiden fUhren. Der Ausbildung zum Thema 'Laser und Strahlenschutz' kommt somit erhebliche Bedeutung zu. Das vorliegende Buch ist aus Vorlesungen und Strahlenschutzkursen an der Technischen Fachhochschule Berlin entstanden. Es wendet sich an jeden, der sich mit Lasern beschiif tigt. 1m Buch werden zuniichst die Strahlungsquelle und die Eigenschaften der Laserstrahlung beschrieben, danach die Wirkung von Strahlung auf menschliches Gewebe und das Auge. Es folgen Kapitel zum Strahlenschutz und eine Wiedergabe wichtiger Sicherheitsvorschriften und Normen. Den AbschluB bilden ein Literatur und Sachwortver zeichnis.
