Die vorliegende Dissertation entstand auf Anregung meines Doktorvaters Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Hbner (Mnster) in den Jahren 19931998 und wurde im Sommersemester 1998 der Philosophischen Fakultt der WWU Mnster vorgelegt (Zweitgutachter: Prof. Dr. HorstDieter Blume, Tag der mndli chen Prfung: 22. Oktober 1998). Fr die Drucklegung wurde sie in gerin gem Umfang berarbeitet und ergnzt. Nach Abschlu der Textkollationenper Mikrofilm fanden die grundle genden Handschriftenuntersuchungen, auf denen die Einleitung fut, im Mrz und April 1996 in Florenz, Rom und Paris statt; krzere Ergnzungsreisen folgten (so etwa 1998 nach der Wiedererffnung der mailndischenBiblioteca Ambrosiana). Fr grozgige Zuschsse zu den erheblichen Reiseund Mate rialkasten danke ich dem Graduiertenkolleg "Griechische und byzantinische Textberlieferung Wissenschaftsgeschichte Humanismusforschung und Neulatein" der Universitt Hamburg, besonders seinem Sprecher Prof. Dr. Dieter Harlfmger sowie Herrn Prof. Dr. Watther Ludwig. Auch vor Ort wur de mir bei meinen Auslandsaufenthalten vielfltige Hilfe und freundliches Entgegenkommen zuteil; hervorheben mchte ich Prof. Giancarlo Savino von der Universitt Florenz, bei dem ich 1990/91 als DAADStipendiat mein kodikologisches Rstzeug erlernte und der mich spter bei der Datierung der Textzeugen dieser Edition beriet, ferner Dott.ssa Anna Maranini (Bologna), der ich wertvolle Hinweise und Materialien zur Maniliusrezeption Bonincon tris verdanke.
