Dj largement plbiscit ds la premire dition LE BON USAGE allait connatre une diffusion fulgurante la suite d'un retentissant article d'Andr Gide. En 1947, le clbre crivain le recommandait aux lecteurs du supplment littraire du journal Le Figaro comme la meilleure grammaire franaise. Depuis le milieu des annes 1980 et la 12e dition, c'est Andr Goosse, gendre de Maurice Grevisse, professeur (devenu mrite) de l'Universit de Louvain, membre et plus tard secrtaire perptuel de l'Acadmie royale de langue et de littrature franaises de Belgique ainsi que membre et aujourd'hui prsident du Conseil international de la langue franaise, qui assure la mise jour et la prennit du BON USAGE. La 14e dition, la premire du XXIe sicle, offre une vritable refonte fruit d'un travail de plus de 10 ans et s'impose comme une rfrence incontournable.
