Le Louvre pendant la guerre propose de dcouvrir, autour de nombreuses photographies, la vie du muse du Louvre pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Runissant des clichs franais et allemands souvent historiques et indits pris entre 1938 et 1947, le livre apporte un regard nouveau sur lvacuation et la rinstallation des uvres dans le tumulte de la guerre.Deux dcouvertes importantes y sont rendues publiques pour la premire fois : le fonds du photographe Pierre Jahan acquis par le muse en 2005 et un ensemble de photographies, trouv en 2004 dans les archives de Coblence, montrant le squestre du Louvre : des salles du palais rquisitionnes par les nazis pour trier les biens pills dans les grandes collections juives. Dautres images prises par les agences de presse ou des photographes professionnels et amateurs des annes 40, viennent mettre ces photographies en contexte.Cest aussi loccasion de connatre le talent de trois photographes : Pierre Jahan partage avec Laure AlbinGuillot ou Marc Vaux une technique qui cherche se faire oublier.
