So ist die Leasingquote, die den Anteil der Investitionen durch Leasing an den gesamtwirtschaftlichen Investitionen angibt, seit dem Beginn der 70er Jahre deutlich angestiegen, wie das Statistische Bundesamt ermittelte. Betrug sie im Jahr 1971 noch 2,1% so liegt der anhand von Plandaten des IfoInstituts errechnete Wert fr 2001 bei 16,3%, dies sind ber 48 Mrd. . Diese Tatsache liefert Grund genug, sich mit Leasing zu beschftigen. Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Arbeit liegt der Schwerpunkt natrlich auf der Behandlung im Rahmen des Jahresabschlusses sowohl beim Leasingnehmer als auch beim Leasinggeber. Es soll jedoch auch auf steuerliche Auswirkungen sowie allgemeine Vor und Nachteile eingegangen werden.
