I expected more from this collection given its title. Some essays didn’t really add to my understanding of the Civil War. The layout wasn't great either, made it hard to follow some arguments. Not what I hoped for.

Interesting, But Some Repetitiveness
The book discusses some compelling themes about the Civil War, but I felt a few chapters overlapped too much. It’s still worth a read if you want to dive deep into American history, just keep in mind it might feel a bit redundant at times.
