A travers des sicles, des son tablissement jusqu'au maintenant elle est passe des temps diffrentes. Au dbut, aprs des checs des efforts missionnaires et en aidant la lutte contre la menace iroquoise et puis aprs la Conqute, soumise l'autorit des protestants anglais, elle a beaucoup contribu conserver l'identit de ses fidles. Aprs tre devenu un vrai pouvoir politique elle n'a pas cesse d'aider dvelopper le pays et reprsenter des intrts de la socit dj canadienne. Les temps changeant, en subissant l'influences de la civilisation invitables, l'Eglise devait se transformer graduellement et perdait lentement le terrain jusqu' la rvolution tranquille o l'tat a pris en charge ses zones d'activits habituelles et l'a priv de presque tous ses privilges. Mais mme maintenant, au debout du XXIme sicle o elle est bien loin de son importance et son omnipotence d'alors, il est incontestable que sans Eglise catholique ni Qubec ni Canada entier n'auraient pu devenir ce qu'ils sont aujourd'hui.
