En matire de protection des biomatriaux contre la corrosion et lusure plusieurs dmarches sont possibles : changer lenvironnement chimique et les conditions dutilisation, changer le matriau ou encore modifier ses proprits. Les deux premires options ncessitent la rvision complte dun ensemble conceptuel et peuvent donc engendrer des difficults et des cots supplmentaires. La troisime approche, qui consiste modifier les proprits superficielles du biomatriau, est la solution la plus simple mettre en uvre, car elle vise adapter le biomatriau aux diffrentes contraintes de son environnement et ncessite donc un investissement moins important. Dans le but damliorer les proprits superficielles mcaniques (duret, rugosit), chimique (rsistance la corrosion) et tribologique (rsistance lusure) des biomatriaux (lalliage de titane Ti6Al4V, lacier inoxydable 316L et un alliage cobalt chrome), il a t dcid de mettre en place un traitement de nanostrucruration SMAT (Surface Mechanical Attrition Treatment). Nous cherchons travers ce traitement lamlioration des proprits de rsistance la corrosion et lusure des biomatriaux.
