Durant la seva estada a Borneo, en Mart i la Mont tindran ocasi de comprovar la utilitat de la feina de recuperaci d'una espcie en perill d'extinci, i coneixeran les activitats d'una empresa que tala els arbres de la selva. Un membre d'aquesta empresa assetjar la Rosa per haverse oposat a la desforestaci de la zona. Per ni les amenaces ni els ensurts no faran que la Rosa, ajudada pel seu nebot i la Mont, canvi el seu objectiu: salvar els orangutans. En Mart i la Mont viuran un munt de situacions molt especials que noms es poden produir en una illa com Borneo, com ara l'atac d'un cocodril, o les histries d'en Yayak, el rei destronat dels orangutans, i de l'scar, el mico nassut a qui han de cuidar. Aquesta novella est basada en la realitat. Les ancdotes que s'hi expliquen han passat de deb, ja que l'autora s'ha inspirat en la seva germana Rosa, que s veterinria especialitzada en primats, i que durant cinc anys ha treballat en una clnica d'orangutans a Borneo.
