LIFE AT THE MARMONT is much more than a biography of Hollywoods most famous and exclusive hotel. Through the hotels framework we see Hollywood in the 1930s and 40s, as Katherine Hepburn and Greta Garbo take up suites and meet with iconic studio greats like Louis B. Mayer. Travelling through the already storied halls we see a first meeting between an MGM publicist and one Miss Hedwig Kiesler, better known to us as Hedy Lamarr. Later chapters of the book turn readers into a fly on the wall during visits from Marilyn Monroe, Montgomery Clift, Sir Laurence Olivier, and many more. Roman Polanski, Robert De Niro, and John Belushiwho died in the hotel in 1982also feature here.
