The third edition of this textbook continues to use an applications approach as the vehicle for explaining theoretical concepts, and promoting realworld problem solving in the exercises. It aims to use the visual nature of applications to bridge the gap between concrete and abstract understanding. A new early introduction of eigenvalues and eigenvectors is included, allowing students time to master these concepts, and there are optional graphing calculator sections at the end of the first two chapters, designed to introduce students who are already experienced with other uses of the graphing calculator to uses in linear algebra.
