Am 22. Januar 1945 spitzt sich die Lage fr Lippitz/Kreis Mohrungen dramatisch zu: Die russische Offensive stt mit derartiger Wucht in Richtung Ostsee, da kaum noch Zeit fr eine Flucht bleibt. Innerhalb weniger Tage wird Ostpreuen vom brigen Teil des Deutschen Reiches abgeriegelt: Fr die meisten Flchtlinge eine Falle, der nur noch auf dem Seeweg zu entkommen ist. Mit Kommentierungen und Ergnzungen versehen, schildern die Tagebuchaufzeichnungen des Gutsbesitzers und Treckfhrers von Lippitz, HansJoachim v. EganKrieger, ein wochenlanges Bangen um das Gelingen der Flucht vor der herannahenden russischen Front, das Versagen von Parteidienststellen, und die Auflsungserscheinungen der deutschen Wehrmacht. About the Author Der Landwirt und Gutsbesitzer des Rittergutes Lippitz/Kreis Mohrungen in Ostpreuen, HansJoachim v. EganKrieger (4. 8. 1903 16. 1. 1981), organisierte im Januar 1945 die Flucht vor der russischen Winteroffensive und fhrte den Treck der Gutsbelegschaft in Richtung Westdeutschland. Schwerkriegsbeschdigt aus der Wehrmacht entlassen, leitete er das Unternehmen weiterhin in seiner Offiziersuniform und verfate whrend dieser Wochen ein militrisch knapp gehaltenes Fluchttagebuch: Die Grundlage der Verffentlichung ber den Lippitzer Gutstreck. Nach Fluchtende versuchte er in Westdeutschland beruflich Fu zu fassen, und konnte schlielich als kaufmnnischer Angestellter in einer groen Chemiefabrik unterkommen. Wenige Jahre bevor er in den Ruhestand trat, gelang es ihm nochmals, die verlorene Heimat als Urlauber zu besuchen. Zu Beginn des Jahres 1981 starb er 77jhrig.
