The socioeconomic development among tribal groups is still very stagnant in India. Orissa is one of the major states in India having a higher proportion of tribal population and their socioeconomic is not much better improved but it has been progressing slowly since a long decades, that effort made by both the central and state governments. Therefore, this study made an effort to examine the living conditions like ethnographic picture and cultural setting along with socioeconomic conditions and educational problems among Dongria Kondh a primitive tribe of 62 tribal groups in Orissa state of India. This study examined the socioeconomic and demographic correlates and explored the educational problems faced by school going children in school and attitude of parents towards school education. In addition that there is also an attempt made to understand the teachers problems and their opinion about tribal children education. The study results that socioeconomic condition is not much better and they still strong in cultural beliefs which may affect the lives of better life and educational development. It has significant to educationists, researchers, policy makers of our country.
