Le premier mai 2004 l'Europe s'est largie, 25 pays composent dsormais cette Union. Avec cette date, la fin de la sparation de l'Europe est scelle. Le vieux continent n'est plus travers par des rideaux de fers ou des murs de sparation. Cette date marque vritablement la fin de l'aprs guerre. Mais le continent compte 45 Etats et beaucoup de ceux qui sont en dehors, lorgnent vers cette Union europenne. L'Allemagne et la France, pays fondateur de l'Union europenne ont toujours soutenu et dfendu cette intgration des PECO. Cette publication est l'aboutissement d'un sminaire organis en mai 2004 l'Universit Jagellonne Cracovie, sur le thme de l'largissement de l'Union europenne et notamment de l'intgration de la Pologne. Cette dernire compte plus de la moiti de la population des nouveaux entrants des PECO et reprsente donc un nouveau poids lourd dans l'Union vingt cinq membres. Le point de vue de la France et de l'Allemagne deux pays fondateurs, intressaient particulirement les jeunes tudiants romanistes ou germanistes polonais.
