Recent technological advances in wireless communication have offered novel solutions to enable vehicles to communicate through a decentralized system. An emerging solution is the Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks VANETs, in which a source vehicle cooperates with the intermediate vehicles in receiving and delivering messages to the location of the destination vehicle. Effectively determining the location of the destination vehicles is a challenging problem due to their fast and random mobility. Recently, location service management protocols are proposed to tackle this challenge, but still they suffer from a number of impediments, including lake of scalability, inability to deal with network voids and inability to leverage locality for communication between the network nodes. In this book, a Regionbased Location Service management Protocol RLSMP is proposed. RLSMP is a selforganizing framework that uses message aggregation and geographical clustering to achieve scalability, fault tolerance and locality awareness. The results in this book are useful to professionals in Intelligent Transportation Systems and wireless communication fields
