Product Description Do powerful secret societies exist? Can they conquer love? Why would people be fascinated by and belong to 'secret societies'? In this book horrible male domination is one of the cornerstones of such a secret organization. The more enlightened aspect of it is that it fights to save the world from extinction (pollution). The size of the world's population, it deems, may be partly to blame for green house effects and it suggests reduction of it by drastic means. The book, however, is first of all a love story. A love between a woman who has been in a marriage with a high executive of such an organization (LOLA) and a man she meets, a man who helps her escape the confines of this extremely maledominant society. This love has its ups and downs and realistically in a short time period manages to go through most of the phases, usually associated with both good and bad marriages. About the Author Carstensen was a professor at the University of Wisconsin. In 1977, during a sabbatical in Paris, he started painting and writing. The patrol car had stopped at the corner of Countryside and Callew. The policewoman was eating a donut, chewing while looking out at the intersection. It was three ayem. A car pulled up on the other side of the intersection and stopped for the red light. The policewoman noticed the front door on the passenger's side open a bit, then close and then open full length. A shape emerged and started moving fast. The door on the driver's side opened wide and another shape followed. A man running after a woman. The woman had high heels and they clapped against the Macadam in a strange rhythm. Like a Maruichi band. The man was catching up with her when he stumbled and fell. You could see the water splash as he hit the pavement, then he got up and pursued the woman.
