Lonely Planet South Africa, Lesotho & Eswatini (Travel Guide)

I was really looking forward to this guide, but it didn't meet my expectations. The sections on Lesotho were pretty thin, and I had trouble finding details on public transport options. I expected more from a Lonely Planet book.

I just got back from a trip to South Africa and this Lonely Planet guide was super helpful! It covered everything from the best places in Cape Town to hidden gems in Lesotho. The maps were easy to follow and the recommendations for local eateries were spot on!

Some Sections Were Outdated
I liked the Lonely Planet guide, but some of the info felt outdated. For instance, a few of the recommended hotels were closed! It still had plenty of good tips, though, just be sure to double-check newer sources too.

The Lonely Planet South Africa guide is decent but I expected a bit more detail about lesser-known attractions. It’s good for basic info on the main cities, but I found myself wanting more in-depth history or local culture insights. Still helpful overall!
