En la actualidad, la realidad poltica de Colombia y Venezuela se ha caracterizado por tener similitudes fundamentales tales como la creacin de coaliciones polticas ya sea en la Unidad Nacional de Juan Manuel Santos o en la Mesa de Unidad Democrtica en Venezuela. Estos procesos, han tendido a ser comparados con alianzas que generaron una transicin democrtica como lo fueron el Frente Nacional en Colombia y el Pacto de Puntofijo en Venezuela. As bien, las coaliciones actuales suelen considerarse como reproducciones de dos procesos fundamentales en la historia poltica de ambos pases. esta investigacin, plantea un anlisis comparado entre el Frente Nacional y el Pacto de Puntofijo, y con esto observar el comportamiento de los partidos polticos y ms exactamente de las coaliciones. Lo anterior, tiene tres propsitos fundamentales: 1.Establecer similitudes y diferencias entre dichos fenmenos polticos; 2.A partir de la diversidad de coaliciones polticas presentadas en el Frente Nacional y el Pacto de Puntofijo, esta investigacin pretende realizar una tipologa de coaliciones; 3.Analizar la actualidad poltica en Colombia y Venezuela a la hora de hacer coaliciones polticas.
