La creciente competitividad entre empresas junto con el creciente nivel de exigencia de los clientes obliga a stas a reconquistar al consumidor y fidelizarlo. Estos factores han abocado en la proliferacin de programas de fidelizacin. La masiva implantacin de tales planes ha impulsado una lnea de investigacin centrada en su estudio. En esta tesis doctoral se pretende analizar la eficacia de los citados programas desde el enfoque del consumidor. Proponemos un modelo integrador que pretende: estudiar el efecto de las caractersticas de los consumidores sobre la participacin en los planes; analizar la influencia de la participacin sobre la lealtad afectiva y comportamental; adems, y dada la variedad de programas existente, delimitar el efecto del tipo de programa sobre la lealtad y finalmente analizar el papel moderador del grado de implicacin del consumidor con el programa al que pertenece.
