Gran conocedor de la estructura cerrada y fatal de los mitos griegos, Cortzar se las ingenia para que la historia tenga igualmente el desenlace conocido: a pesar de las intenciones de su amada el monstruo elige morir a manos de Teseo. sta obra de rara belleza logra el prodigio de cumplir con la tradicin al tiempo que la trasgrede. Y con su serena y clsica luminosidad ocupa un lugar de excepcin dentro de la riqusima obra literaria del gran escritor argentino. About the Author Nacido en Bruselas en 1914, durante una estancia temporal de sus padres en esa ciudad, Julio Cortzar es uno de los escritores argentinos ms importantes de todos los tiempos. Realiz estudios de Letras y de Magisterio y trabaj como docente en varias ciudades del interior de Argentina. En 1951 fij su residencia definitiva en Pars, desde donde desarroll una obra literaria nica dentro de la lengua castellana. Algunos de sus cuentos se encuentran entre los ms perfectos del gnero. Su novela Rayuela conmocion el panorama cultural de su tiempo y marc un hito insoslayable dentro de la narrativa contempornea. Cortzar muri en Pars en 1984.
