About the Author Jody Fletcher Kibler was born and raised in the far western suburbs of Chicago, the fifth child in a family of six. In her early 20's she married a Wisconsin dairy farmer and moved to America's Dairyland. Over the next 12 years, they had seven children, losing one of them to SIDS at four months old. As the farm economy worsened, Jody had to go to work. After a short stint in an embroidery shop, she started covering evening meetings for the Juneau County Times. She soon became a full time reporter. She began writing her weekly humor column, 'The View From Here.' Two of her stories were previously publish in 'A Treasury of Farm Women's Humor,' published by LincolnHerndon Press, Springfield, Illinois. She, her husband and their six children farm with her husband's parents, Les and Rita Kibler, in Elroy, Wisconsin.
