An essay (by Duncan Christie) introduces landscape painter Hannock's work, which is displayed in 60 color plates. Hannock's paintings are in many important permanent collections (including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York), have been shown in many venues, and were also part of the 2000 film 'What Dreams May Come.' He has developed a technique of layering resin and oil paint, polished with an orbital sander, in order to achieve otherworldly effects with light reminiscent of the Hudson River School.
