While Nelson was created in 1808 from Amherst county. Lynchburg Will Book "A" covers the period 18091830, the first Marriage Book of the city of Lynchburg begins in 1807 through 1828, and Deed Book A of the city of Lynchburg covers the period of 18051813. The Nelson County records include Will Book A, Deed Book 1 and the marriage records all from 18071831.
