Doch wo sind Grenzen um den Begriff der deutschen Romantik zu ziehen und was zeichnet diese Epoche kenntlich von anderen ab? Zumal bedacht werden muss, dass sich die Romantik nicht zuletzt in die weiten Felder der bildenden Kunst und der Musik ebenso erstreckte wie in das der Literatur. Doch auch in der Lyrik der Romantik in sich, ist die komplexe Verwobenheit mit anderen Gattungen der Literatur bemerkenswert. Nicht selten waren romantische Gedichte ursprnglich in epische Geschichten, Novellen oder Mrchen eingebettet oder wurden spter, losgelst als Volkslied oder Kirchenliedtexte verwandt. Um den Begriff der Romantik, erstrangig im Hinblick auf Deutschland, genauer ermessen zu knnen, mchte ich zunchst sowohl eine zeitliche als auch inhaltliche Abgrenzung diskutieren, um im zweiten Teil der Arbeit auf konkrete Wesensmerkmale und wohl typische Besonderheiten der romantischen Dichtung, an konkreten Beispielen, einzugehen.
