About the Author Er wurde 1939 in Oppeln/Oberschlesien (heutiges Opole) geboren. Als Fnfjhriger erlebt er die Flucht vor der herannahenden Ostfront, die ihn und seine Familie in der scheinbaren Idylle eines brandenburgischen Dorfes berrollt. Im Jahr der Berlinblockade 1948 gelingt der Mutter mit den Shnen die lebensgefhrliche Flucht aus der russisch besetzten Zone mit einem Fluchthelfer in "den Westen". Nach dem Abitur in Coburg folgten Studium und pdagogische Berufsttigkeit.
