Esta tesis tiene dos vertientes. Por un lado, un cuerpo de informacin construido para trabajar con los alumnos sobre el tema de la mano, que desarrolla aspectos como la anatoma y funcin de la mano, sus primeras manifestaciones artsticas, la huella, tratando de establecer relaciones entre unas pocas y otras, no siempre de forma cronolgica; considerando el cuerpo fragmentado, la mano, se relacionan obras de distintos artistas, desde Rodin hasta algunos de los ms reconocidos de la poca contempornea, como Gabriel Orozco, pasando por los ms importantes escultores del siglo XX, como Brancusi, Giacometti o Julio Gonzlez. La negacin de la mano como contribucin del minimalismo o las investigaciones de artistas cibernticos. El gesto del artista como lenguaje y el arte como transmisor del gesto. El tacto y su importancia en la percepcin del mundo visible e invisible, la distincin entre mano derecha e izquierda. Finalmente, el manejo de herramientas como reflexin sobre la obra misma y como generador de dilogo entre distintos lenguajes artsticos. Por otro, un trabajo de campo con propuestas de alumnos como resultado de la investigacin.
