El Presente trabajo tiene como objetivo principal el Desarrollo de un Modelo para el Manejo de Residuos en la Industria Metalmecnica (Hierro y Acero) cuyo planteamiento especfico es el de evitar o minimizar la generacin de residuos peligrosos e industriales antes de recurrir a opciones de reciclaje que en muchos casos genera otros residuos mucho ms peligrosos. Incluye un anlisis de la situacin actual de las empresas en cuanto a manejo de residuos se refiere, evaluando los diferentes procesos y etapas que se realizan en el rubro de metalmecnica. Para el desarrollo del modelo se desarrollaron fichas de trabajo las cuales podrn ser utilizadas por cada empresa para adaptarlas a su necesidad particular as como una base de datos relacional aplicable a cualquier empresa.
