Protection of the environment has to be a central part of any sustainable inclusive growth strategy. Increase in human population, urbanization, cutting trees and use of plants for pharmaceutical purpose leads to destruction of medicinal plant. Not only destruction but some of the species become threaten for their existence. One such is Asparagus racemosus whose roots extracts widely used for the preparation of medicines by pharma companies. More than 500 tons of roots are needed every year for various medicinal preparations. Thats why, conservation efforts have been required. In vitro techniques not only provides the way for its conservation, but it also provides alternative way of producing large amount of active components directly into the laboratory by using technique like hairy root culture and suspension culture. This research represents establishment of in vitro callus culture, micropropagation, suspension culture and hairy root culture through which commercial production of saponin (active ingredient) can be possible directly at the lab level. Outcome of this research has been provided the new window to the scientific community to save the medicinally important plant.
