This a demographic analysis of marital dissolution. It uses the 1977/78 Kenya Fertility Survey data.It examines the regional differentials of determinants of marital dissolution.It explains the factors influencing the rates,levels and patterns of marital dissolution in Kenya.Results from both life tables and regression models show that marital dissolution differ from one region to the other and by different predictor variables.Coast province was found to posses the highest marital dissolution rate whereas Rift valley had the lowest rate.Ethnic characteristics, secondary level of education and rural place of residence are factors negatively influencing marital stability nationally whereas each region had different factors contributing to marital dissolution.For example in Nairobi low age at first marriage (
