Competence, Credibility, Commitment und Cooperation stellen im 'Konzept der vier e' die Bausteine eines erfolgreichen marktorientierten Umweltmanagement dar. 'Competence' steht fr die tatschliche Problemlsungskompetenz des Unternehmens im Hinblick auf kologische Fragestellungen. Mit 'Credibility' ist die Glaubwrdigkeit auf der Grundlage ganzheitlicher Konzeptionen angesprochen. 'Commitment' umfat die Verpflichtung zum Wandel und zur kologischen Innovation und 'Cooperation' meint schlielich die Kooperation und den Dialog ber die Firmengrenzen hinaus. Die Kunst und damit auch der Erfolg einer umweltorientierten Unternehmensfhrung und des Umweltmarketing wird darin bestehen, den kologischen Lernproze im Unternehmen bei allen Beteiligten zu beschleunigen und die Anreize des Marktes im Dienst des Umweltschutzes richtig zu nutzen.
