Der Luftverkehr bildet den dynamischsten Sektor innerhalb des Verkehrbereiches in den letzten Jahrzehnten und auch weiterhin der jhrliche Zuwachs wird auf absehbare Zeit mit etwa 5 % abgeschtzt, fr die Luftfracht liegen die Erwartungen teils noch darber ber einen 20JahresZeitraum hin bedeutet dies etwa eine Verdreifachung (vgl. die regelmigen Prognosen von Boeing und Airbus). ...die Anzahl der befrderten Passagiere im weltweiten Fluglinienverkehr in den Mitgliedsstaaten der ICAO von 68 Millionen (1955) zu 2,022 Milliarden Passagieren im Jahr 2005. Dagegen stieg die Transportleistung, gemessen an den zurckgelegten Passagierkilometern (PKM), im gleichen Zeitraum strker an: von 61 Millionen PKM (1955) hin zu 3,72 Milliarden PKM (2005). Daraus lsst sich schlieen, dass immer mehr Passagiere immer grer werdende Distanzen zurcklegen. Als ein weiteres Indiz fr Globalisierungstendenzen im Luftverkehr kann die starke Zunahme des internationalen Verkehrs (insbesondere auf Interkontinentalverbindungen) angesehen werden.
