Ausgehend von der Definition und Einordnung von Organisation im Allgemeinen wird im Hauptteil dieser wissenschaftlichen Arbeit das Materialgruppenmanagement nher analysiert. Dabei stehen vor allem die Organisation und der Aufbau des Materialgruppenmanagements sowie die Arbeitsweise und die praktische Umsetzung im Unternehmen im Mittelpunkt. Mit welchen Schritten beginnt man die Einfhrung einer neuen Organisation, welche Voraussetzungen sind notwendig und welche Mglichkeiten bieten sich? Es werden jedoch auch die Grenzen bzw. Schwchen der erst in den 1990er Jahren entstandenen und von Werner Kalbfuss mageblich entwickelten Organisationsform erlutert. Warum scheitern Unternehmen an dieser Organisationsform und welche Ursachen fhrten dazu? Abschlieend beschftigt sich die Arbeit mit alternativen Organisationsformen und versucht die eingangs gestellte Frage mit Hilfe der einhergegangenen Analyse zu beantworten.
