Max Ernst (18911976), whose first radical achievements date from the time of the First World War, stands as one of the greatest innovative pioneers of this centurys art. This exhibition surveys Ernsts major early accomplishments. Between 1912 and 1927, Ernest successively participated in the Expressionist, Dada, and Surrealist movements. During these fifteen years, he devised crucial innovations in technique, approaches to imagery, and themes, which were to inform his art throughout his entire career. The exhibition emphasizes Ernsts participation from 1919 to 1924 in Dada.

Unfortunately, my copy arrived with some pages slightly marked and the cover wasn’t in the best shape. I was looking forward to reading about Dada and surrealism by Max Ernst, but the damaged state really took away from the experience. Not what I hoped for!

Interesting but Not What I Expected
I thought this book would be more about Max Ernst himself, but it covers a broader range of surrealist artists. It’s informative, but I wish there was more focus on Ernst’s personal work. Still a good read if you’re into this genre!

A Fascinating Art Exploration
The 'Dada and the Dawn of Surrealism' book by Max Ernst is a deep dive into the avant-garde movement. The illustrations are captivating, and the writing really brings the art to life. I bought this for my art history class, and it’s been a great discussion starter!

Great Content, But Packaging Issues
I enjoyed the insights in Max Ernst's book, but the packaging upon arrival was a bit dented. The book itself is fantastic, filled with rich details about surrealism, but I would’ve preferred it arrived in better condition. Still worth reading!
