The research points out some important empty spaces which need to be considered in term of overcoming EMI issues in modern automotives using power cables and connectors. It suggests method used to build electrical model and an electrical model for a power connector based on electromagnetic modeling technique. Further the lack of efficient and easy method to evaluate connector shield performance is covered by suggesting a shield effectiveness measurement method for power connectors. Also the experimental results are further compiled into a graphical user interface software tool for assisting cable and connector designers. Finally, suggestion for developing relationship between shielding performance of inline connectors and end line connectors is made in this research. Still working to find more concise and comprehension answers to many unsolved problems related to Electromagnetic compatibility issues of power connectors & cables used in modern automotive.
