La atencin educativa permanente dirigida a los docentes en ejercicio, requiere del establecimiento de mtodos que posibiliten el intercambio de conocimientos, experiencias y estrategias de actualizacin y adecuacin al ejercicio profesional. En este sentido, la investigacin tuvo como propsito determinar el impacto de la aplicacin de un plan de formacin en la comunidad docente de la Unidad Educativa Estadal Dr. Jos Manuel Nez Ponte, para la promocin del mejoramiento de la calidad de vida en el barrio San Jos de Petare. La metodologa se fundament en el paradigma socio crtico, con diseo de Investigacin Accin; participaron diez (10) docentes. La recoleccin de informacin se obtuvo mediante entrevistas abiertas y notas de campo analizadas cualitativamente. El procedimiento fue por etapas: acercamiento inicial, diagnstico, diseo, ejecucin del programa consensuado y valoracin de su impacto. Las teoras trataron sobre Calidad de Vida (Perafn y Martnez 2007); Valores para la Convivencia Social (Cuesta, 2006), entre otros. En las conclusiones ms relevantes del estudio se consider que los docentes presentaron necesidades de formacin.
