Um mich nicht eines technologischen Determinismus schuldig zu machen, sollen auch institutionelle und kulturelle Faktoren beachtet werden. Die Betrachtung der Musik soll in einem medientheoretischen Rahmen erfolgen, weshalb die historischen Zsuren Schrift, Buchdruck, analoge Speichermedien und Computer aus der Medienwissenschaft entliehen sind. Der Fokus dieser Arbeit liegt im Allgemeinen auf der Unterhaltungsmusik und im Speziellen auf RapMusik. Jedoch wird die klassische Musik immer wieder zum Vergleich herangezogen und soll gegenstzliche Entwicklungen und Dichotomien in der Musik verdeutlichen. Auf Liedtextanalysen hingegen, wird in diesem Rahmen verzichtet. Hier offenbart ein Blick auf die Funktionsweisen und Logiken des Geflechts aus Institutionen, Technologien und Kultur einen greren und allgemeineren berblick ber Musikproduktion, distribution und ber die Rezeption von Musik.
